Bill of Materials
You must bring a robot Bill of Materials (usually known as BOM, pronounced "bomb") to each tournament. The BOM is only required to have materials whose allowed dimensions or amounts are limited, such as (in previous years) sheet plastic or metal. However, it always impresses the judges when you show up at a tournament with a complete BOM, and it certainly makes going through inspection easier. You can use our Bill of Materials as a starting point for your own.

Checklist
Although it isn't required, you'll probably want to make a competition checklist-- we started making one after we forgot to turn on the robot during a match a few years ago! It may sound silly, but having a list of important things to do before, during, and after a match can really help. Feel free to use our sample checklist as a guide, although you'll need to modify it to fit this year's game.

Scout Sheet
At tournaments, it's always a good idea to scout out other teams, whether to check out the opposing teams, work with your alliances, or spark new ideas for your own robot. We make up a scout sheet each year so that we have some good questions to ask other teams. Check out our sample scout sheet, then use it to design your own.
